Final meal

A lovely final meal in a courtyard away from the throwing beats coming from the Arena. A major pop music event in there tonight. When we arrive at the restaurant, which we enjoyed once before, there were red roses in cellophane and red ribbon for Alexa and me on the table....organised earlier by Keith. Such a lovely gesture. They have both been very openly grateful for my company and help over this holiday. I meanwhile have had a wonderful luxury stay in this beautiful city, which I have enjoyed exploring when they were both resting.

Back in the delightful hotel we watch King Charles 111's speech to the nation on my iPad.

Back in my room, I have packed. We check out by 11 tomorrow and get a taxi at one for the airport. I hope the assisted travel works as well on the way home....if not better. I'll be sad to leave this beautiful city and the warmth of the sunshine behind. But in a week's time I am off to Greece. Strange it has all come at once. The Greek island walking holiday was one which we had postponed twice thanks to Covid. And the Verona trip has been a surprise extra. I feel blessed that it has turned out so well. I hadn't known what to expect. But it has been overwhelmingly positive.
